punk music + typography = visual goodness

I am in love with this project by designer Mike Joyce, founder of stereotype design in new york city. Swissted (www.swissted.com) combines Mike's love of punk, hardcore and indie rock and swiss modernism. The resulting redesigned show flyers are eye candy for music lovers and typography fans alike (ie. myself). Looking through the 200+ posters he's recreated is making me incredibly nostalgic and completely inspired. Oh, and they are all available for sale at the swisstedshop. Yes please!

(each design is set in berthold akzidenz grotesk medium)

etsy find: doloris petunia

Ack! I'm totally smitten by the work of Courtney Prince, aka Doloris Petunia. Named after her adorable dog, Doloris Petunia creates one of a kind jewelry for weddings or any special occasion, really. Her website and Spring 2012 collection is 'coming soon.' But in the mean time, find out more about Courtney here and see more of her amazing statement necklaces here. I would love to see a bride rock one of her custom pieces over a simple dress!

1. one of a kind custom necklace - $750.00
2. juliet cap bridal head dress - $600.00
3. (no longer available)

a spring wedding showcase

Whew. This past Sunday was such a tiring but rewarding experience. I had the opportunity to help coordinate the artisan wedding showcase, Linked. Linked was the brainchild of Annette Lefebvre of Luxe Productions & Wedding Design and Tes de Luna and Sara Furstenberg of Crinoline and Tweed. These lovely ladies brought together such an amazing collection of artists, culinary professionals and musicians, curated specially for the bride and groom-to-be.

As someone who is transitioning into the wedding industry, this event was an invaluable chance for me to meet some amazing artisans. These individuals are the hidden gems of the wedding industry, the people you want in your pocket for an unconventional and creative celebration.

So I want to thank you, all of you, who made Linked such a success:

Coming soon!
